This contract consisted of building steel foot bridges over the Vermillion River at Stanley Glacier and Paint Pots in Kootenay National Park. There was no existing access to the work sites that was suitable for mobilization of equipment or materials. Big Rock developed access routes and decommissioned the routes at the completion of the work.
Major scope items included creating access trails, demolishing an existing bridge, installing temporary bridge crossings, preparing the foundations, installing piles, and installing the new bridge structures. Additional work included timber deck construction for the Paint Pots bridge, lining the river banks with rip rap, trail re-alignment, and re-vegetation.
